About This Book
Daniel Sommer (1850-1940) is one of the more controversial and enigmatic figures in Restoration history. He adamantly opposed innovations like instrumental music and the missionary society, and played a prominent role in the division between the Disciples of Christ who embraced the innovations and the churches of Christ which rejected them. Interestingly, the work of Sommer is repudiated by many in non-institutional churches of Christ today, and "Sommerite" has become a term of derision.
"A Record of My Life" was written by Daniel Sommer. It was first published in the Apostolic Review from November 21, 1939 to June 3, 1941. It covers his early life, education, and his years of work in preaching the gospel. Many people have said things about Sommer. This material lets you hear from the man himself.
